Take care & be safe
Hey everybody out there in cyberspace! Hope everyone's doing well. I come to you tonight with a heavy heart. After much deliberation & soul searching, I've made the decision to go on indefinite hiatus with the blog. I'm not leaving forever, don't get me wrong. I just have too much on my plate right now...I'm starting back up with my radio show this month & I'm in the process of writing a book, so between the show, book & blog, I've become too busy & frankly, I have to slow down. I hope you guys can understand. The absolute LAST thing I want to do is disappoint any of my dedicated readers. I've thoroughly enjoyed this blog & getting to respond to your comments & interact with you. As I said, I'm not going away forever...there's no way you're getting rid of me that easily, I'm just taking some time to focus on my other commitments. As the title of this blog suggests, I've had the absolute time of my life writing for you guys & I hope when I come back, you'll be there like you've constantly been. I promise I'll pop back in from time to time to give you guys updates on the show & the progress of the book. If any of you want to follow me on Twitter, feel free...it's @WkdysWithMurph. I love each and every one of my readers, so, in conclusion, I bid you good day, not goodbye.
Take care & be safe
Hey everybody out there in cyberspace! Not in much of a writing mood today, but I'll do what I can. Let's get on with it, then!
Silas met Nathan West, who came to town with an axe to grind against him for his part in whatever happened in New York City. I have to be honest, I'm digging Ryan Paevey as Nathan West...I liked him from the second he came on. Anyway, after his little run-in with Silas, Nathan knocked on Sam's door & I don't know this for a fact, but I'm hoping they pair them up together. I'm just not digging Silas/Sam.
At Kelly's, Sonny tells Shawn about Morgan, who learns of TJ's part in the warehouse shooting/kidnapping & proceeds to tell him to get out of town while he still can. I have no idea if Tequan Richmond is out as TJ, or what they'll do with the character, as we saw Anna and the police come by Kelly's in the last couple minutes of the show.
Morgan tells Julian he wants out, but Julian basically blackmails him into staying in the mob, telling him he'll finish the job by killing Max if Morgan leaves.
Ava came to Carly for help...this can't end well. I loved the scenes between Laura Wright & Maura West! Two powerhouse women going toe to toe with each other...be still my beating heart. Ava tells Carly that if she breathes a word of what was said to anybody, she'll make sure she's wiped off the face of the planet. Them's fighting words! This should be interesting to watch, and I can't wait to see how it plays out.
Speaking of Carly, she proceeds to tell Michael & Kiki that she's seeing Franco. Cue Michael's head exploding. Michael proceeds to tell Carly, as he's said a billion times before, what a creep Franco is for what he set in motion, but Carly's having none of it, saying Franco was trying to protect Michael when he was in prison.
Line of the Day; Franco to Olivia: Oh, how noble, in a completely illegal kind of way!
Well, I hope you guys enjoyed my (short) Murph's Musings today! Like I said, I wasn't in the mood to write, but I knew I had to get at least something out there for y'all. As always, comments, questions, etc. are welcomed & appreciated!
Take care & be safe
Hey everybody out there in cyberspace! Who's ready for another one of my fabulous (yeah, right) Weekly Wrap segments? Alrighty then...let's go!
This week's GH, all 3 days of it, was, in my opinion, not the best in the world. We'll leave that for a second & focus on today's, though.
Shawn says he needs to talk to TJ about what went down in the warehouse, but if I know TJ at all, he'll keep things quiet, which could be his undoing. I'm sensing another casualty from the fallout of the warehouse shooting, but we'll have to wait and see how it all plays out.
Sonny wants Duke to work Anna for information on the shooting, since we all know he's covering for Morgan. Speaking of Morgan, the scenes today between Bryan Craig & Maurice Benard were WONDERFUL! It's very rare that I use all caps to describe something, but this was amazing! Sonny goaded Morgan into shooting him right there in a hospital room & the look on Bryan Craig's face was one of utter sickness. I cannot wait for more scenes between the two. I'll be honest, I wasn't much on Morgan when he first came back to town, but that all ended during his rant at Sonny at his & Kiki's wedding reception. I'm now firmly on Team Morgan.
Ava shows up at Julian's and basically says that there are two more people who need to be "taken care of"...TJ & Molly. I don't know what's going to happen here, so we'll just leave it at that for now, shall we?
Anna hires Nathan at the PCPD after basically grilling him about why he asked to be transferred, unbeknownst to her that he has an axe to grind against Silas. Speaking of Silas, they come face to face at the end of today's show...talk about a cliffhanger! I'm kind of digging Ryan Peavey as Nathan, as I've said in previous blogs. I can't wait to see what direction they take the character. I hope he's not there to bust Ava as well as Silas.
Rafe shows up at the commissioner's office & says he knows something about the shooting...what it is, I have absolutely no clue, so we'll see on Monday, I guess.
Okay, enough of this, time for what you really came after...my weekly grade. Drum roll, please!
Weekly Grade: C-
I think that about covers it for the week that was in Port Charles, don't you? As always, comments, quesi
Hey everybody out there in cyberspace! Before we get to today's edition of Murph's Musings, I hear congratulations are in order for a certain GH star. I believe it was on December 30, Teresa Castillo (Sabrina) confirmed she was expecting a little girl, due in May, so, Teresa, if you stumble across this (I highly doubt anybody from GH reads these things) huge congrats to you & your hubby on the impending arrival!'
Now that that business is taken care of, who's ready for more of Murph's Musings?!
Silas called Ava so they could take care of this nagging NYPD problem, which, as we found out, the person who keeps calling Silas is none other than Nathan West, who subletted Maxie's apartment since she's going away to "find herself".
Patrick tells Emma about his plans to renew his vows with Robin & what ensued could only be described in two words...absolute adorableness! Robin & Patrick came up with the ingenious idea to let Emma "officiate", and like I said, it was adorable. I have no idea how the actors involved even got through those scenes without cracking up more than they did on screen.
Felix threatens to tell Patrick about Sabrina's baby if she doesn't, which prompted a tangent from Sabrina, in which several (probably curse) Spanish words were batted around & ended with Felix backing down. Looks like they'll keep this a secret...but for how long, is my question.
At the hospital, Britt proceeds to tell Dante & Lulu that she can't find any viable eggs to harvest & that they're basically out of luck, which prompted Lulu to pack her things & leave, telling Dante that she blames him for losing Connie & that she doesn't want another baby & couldn't stand the pain anymore. Can I get off track for just one second? I completely love, love, LOVE Emme Rylan! Her scenes today when she was recapping what happened to the couple this past year were incredible! Emme is a gold mine of an actress & I commend GH for hiring her. That's nothing against Julie Marie Berman at ALL, I respect her & what she brought to the character, it's just that I'm loving Emme's version of Lulu. Okay, that's enough about that.
Maxie tells Nathan about the drama that went on between her, Spinelli & Ellie, which, knowing what we know now about Nathan, can't be a good thing.
Sam & Silas hit the sheets just before the New Year & can I just say that I'm not digging Sam or Silas? They have zero chemistry, in my opinion. It may be that I just don't like Sam anymore, but something's going on.
Okay, that was sort of a short blog, simply because I couldn't remember a lot of stuff that went on today, so if any of you out there think I missed something, please feel free to fill me in. Anyway, comments, questions, etc. are welcomed & appreciated!
Take care and be safe
Hey everybody out there in cyberspace! Hope you guys are gearing up to do it up big in 2014! Here's an early wish that the new year finds you happy, healthy & safe! Okay, enough of my rambling...let's get to it. Who's ready for my last Murph's Musings of 2013?! Oh, my apologies to Usher for stealing one of his song titles...it'll come in handy though, trust me.
Sam went to see Silas today & in the middle of their conversation, Monica comes up, screaming like a three year old about Silas' name being at the top of the Chief of Staff shortlist. I'll be honest here, Monica acted like a brat. It was like she was basically saying, "It's my job, the hospital gave it to me!", just like she goes on and on about the Q mansion being "her house, Alan gave it to her!" Oh well, we'll leave that be.
Maxie shows up at Lulu's to say goodbye, as Kirsten Storms is on maternity leave. I thought the scenes between Emme Rylan & Kirsten Storms were super sweet. I don't know what it is about these two, but every time they're in scenes together, I'm drawn to the TV like a fat kid to cupcakes. I can't get enough. Maxie says she needs to get away for a while, which is why I named the blog like I did. Okay, enough of my fan boy moments. Back to business.
Felix suspects (and with good reason) that Sabrina's pregnant & I think most of us saw that story coming a mile away from the second Carlos showed up at her door after being shot, but there's no way it could be Carlos', for two reasons: 1) she just patched him up like yesterday, and 2) there's no way that could cause any drama. What could cause the most drama, and what will probably eventually happen, is that they baby will be Patrick's. This probably can't end well.
Speaking of Patrick, he asked Robin to have another baby, to which she turned him down, with good reason. She's barely been back & now Patrick wants to profess his love to her by having another kid...easy there, tiger. Robin had, in my opinion, a much better, less drastic idea of renewing their vows. I can't wait until Thursday to see how that plays out.
Back to the Lulu/Maxie story for a second. Maxie stops by Lulu's place to ask for forgiveness, which Lulu can't do & frankly, I'm glad she didn't forgive her that easily.
Speaking (again) of Lulu, she went to the hospital to start the IVF treatment, only to find out, we think, that she's already pregnant. I'm hoping that'll be the case. I want Dante & Lulu to have a happy ending after all the crap they've been through. We know that Britt's keeping the secret of who Ben's real parents are, and that he's actually Dante & Lulu's, so I'm waiting for this secret to come out as well.
As Maxie was packing up, she gets a knock at her door & in steps the new character of NYPD Detective Nathan West, played by Ryan Peavey. I can't wait to see what his back story will be & why he showed up at Maxie's of all places.
Okay, I think that about covers it for this edition of Murph's Musings! I'll be back on Thursday, Jan 2, for another year of my thoughts on everything GH related! Until then, as always, comments, questions, etc. are welcomed & appreciated!
Take care & be safe
Hey everybody out there in cyberspace! I hope you enjoyed your Christmas, Hanukkah, whatever you celebrated, and I hope it found you happy & healthy! Enough of my rambling, let's get this Weekly Wrap going, shall we?
The week in Port Charles was a bit, shall we say, hectic? We jumped from Christmas Day to New Year's Eve in a matter of one day. How did that happen?! Anyway, from the shootout in the warehouse, to Maxie taking some time to "find herself", (aka Kirsten Storms' maternity leave), it was, all in all, a good week to be a GH fan.
Today on the show, Sam learns Danny will be okay, and I, for one, am glad. Sam's been through it since she's been on the show, hasn't she? From Jason's death to Danny's leukemia, and I'm not going to even go INTO everything she's been through in the past, it was nice to see things actually settle down for her for a while. I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop, which, in soaps, it almost always does.
Felix comes home & finds Carlos in his bed, which prompts him to go off on Sabrina, which, in turn, prompts Sabrina to confess that Carlos was shot, which in turn (whew), caused Sabrina to get sick & we all know stress wasn't the cause of that...methinks Sabrina's pregnant. The only question is, who's the daddy? I know the way I would write that. If I were the writer, I'd have Patrick be the dad, for the simple fact that it would cause the most drama and damage. If it were Carlos', that would be too easy. I'm hearing rumors that Teresa Castillo is pregnant in real life, so I'm sure that's how they're going to write that in.
Speaking of real life pregnancies, Kirsten Storms' Maxie told Robin & her parents today that she needs to get away to "find herself", which is the way I saw this playing out from the start. I didn't think they'd recast Maxie temporarily, which would've been a viable option. I just don't think the audience was ready for another temporary Maxie recast, so they opted to write out the character short term in order for Kirsten to have her baby & go on maternity leave.
In other Port Charles happenings, Nik wants to make it official with Britt, who, after a bit of prodding, decides she wants that, too. I LOVE this couple together, and knowing what I know about Kelly being starstruck with Tyler makes it all the more adorable to watch.
Lulu wants to try again for another baby & judging by Dante's reaction, he's all too happy to oblige her request. She calls up Britt, who apologizes for her past transgressions with Lulu and agrees to be their OB. I can't wait to see how this story plays out.
Continuing on the baby train, Patrick tells Robin he wants to try for another baby, so if everything shakes out like expected (pardon the pun), we'll have three pregnancies on GH at once. Wow. Enough said.
Okay, I think that about covers today's recap. Time for my weekly grade...and it is:
Weekly Grade: Solid B
I hope you enjoyed today's edition of Murph's Musings! As always, comments, questions, etc. are welcomed & appreciated!
Take care & be safe
Hey everybody out there in cyberspace! After a Christmas break, I'm back to writing my thoughts on GH! Missed me, didn't ya? I sure missed all my readers (how many of you are there now, like, 2)? Anyway, let's get right into today's recap!
Today's Christmas episode of GH was pure awesomeness. Before we get into that, though, I have to mention this. Anybody who reads this knows my complete love & adoration for Kathleen Gati (Obrecht). Well, I was pleasantly surprised when today's show started & we got an Obrecht voice-over. I almost fell out from excitement! That wasn't the only surprise Obrecht had up her sleeve. We'll get to that later, trust me.
Patrick & Robin wound up (naturally) in bed together. Is it just me, or is anyone else sensing all will not be well in the kingdom with these two in the near future? We'll wait and see how that turns out, but I have my theories, and frankly, none of them are good for Patrick or Robin. This will probably make more people made than it will happy, but since Robin returned, I'm just not feeling the connection between her & Patrick, probably because Scrubs has been shoved down our throats incessantly over the years. I used to be a Scrubs fan...now, not so much. Don't get me wrong, the actors are giving it all they've got, I just don't think the chemistry is there anymore. I know we just got them back, but I think it's time to move on. Okay, I can see the hate comments rolling in as I type this, so let's move on, shall we?
Sabrina patches up Carlos & they end up having this big argument about Carlos being in the mob & how that's the entire reason they broke up in the first place. I don't know this for a fact, but I'm sensing sparks will eventually fly between Sabrina & Carlos.
Can I just say that I love Morgan, even though he's an absolute brat? Bryan Craig does an amazing job with the character. I'll have to see if I can have him on my show sometime to chat about everything Morgan's gone through. I'll keep you guys posted on the progress, if it happens. Speaking of Morgan, seeing the pain on his face when he was standing outside Max's hospital room...you could just cut the tension with a knife. Oh, we did get a Milo sighting during those scenes. How long's it been since we've actually seen Milo, can anybody tell me?! Rhetorical question, but, you get the idea.
Ava shows up at Kiki's, and again, Maura West shines. This woman commands respect & attention every time she steps on the stage, in my opinion...and who can't help but watch everything she does on screen?! You can't look away, she's that good. I'm convinced Maura West is one of those actors who can play any part flawlessly that you put in front of her. Okay, my fawning over Maura is over...at least until she's back on my radio show hopefully in January.
Speaking of Morgan, Olivia tells him that Sonny was arrested & apparently, it didn't seem to sink in, until Dante came to question him (not officially) about the shooting, saying he thinks Sonny is covering for him.
In other GH happenings, Britt & Nik stop by to see Lulu, and the entire time, I'm thinking, "This can't end well at all". Speaking of Lulu, Emme Rylan has been a gold mine lately. She's another one I'd love to have on my show to chat about everything GH related. Britt proceeds to tell Lulu that she can try for another baby, knowing the entire time that Ben is actually Lulu's. I can't wait for that to come out & the repercussions that'll have.
Remember my "love fest" about Kathleen Gati earlier? Well, it's not over. At the end of the show, they had an ending montage, with Kathleen Gati singing "O Tannenbaum". That woman has some pipes...not like Sonya Eddy, but, she can still sing her butt off!
Line of the Day: Sonny to Obrecht: You know what, lady? You need to stop talking.
Okay, I think that does it for today's Murph's Musings. Oh, please help me welcome back the Line of the Day, too! As always, questions, comments, etc. are welcomed & appreciated!
Take care & be safe!
Hey everybody out there in cyberspace! Sorry for no Weekly Wrap last week, but GH was preempted by President Obama as you well know by now & today's episode is what Friday's was supposed to be. I know, weird schedule, but it had to happen. Oh well, here we go with more of my musings!
Today's GH was awesome! Down in the warehouse, Morgan & Sonny come face to face, guns drawn & let me tell you, you could just cut the tension with a knife. Sadly, though, Max came out of nowhere & spooked Morgan, so, unfortunately, he got a bullet in the chest. I sincerely hope Derk Cheetwood isn't going anywhere, Granted, all he is is a lackey for Sonny, but I love his relationship with Diane. Speaking of Diane, she stops by the Jerome "household" and asks Ava about the NYPD. Can I get off track here a second? Maura West continues to impress me. I teased on Twitter that Maura would get a special section in the blog, and here it is. Aside from being one of the loveliest, classiest ladies ever in real life, I'm convinced she can play anything you put in front of her pretty much flawlessly. Is there anything this woman CAN'T do? Okay, my fawning over Maura West is complete. That didn't hurt too bad, did it? Moving right along...
Patrick shows up at Sabrina's door, and I think nearly everybody on the planet saw where this was going, except for maybe Sabrina. Patrick basically says he's choosing Robin, which, in all honesty & fairness, as much as I love Teresa Castillo's Sabrina, he should be with his wife. Although it did kind of break my heart to see Sabrina cry. I hope she gets a new love interest & quick. If the previews for tomorrow are any indication, my money is on Carlos. He shows up at Sabrina's door at the end of the day today, bloody from the warehouse shootout & once Sabrina patches him up, I'm betting sparks are going to fly.
Speaking of the shootout, Molly proceeds to tell Ava where Morgan is. I was kind of digging the softer side of Ava when she hugged Molly & told her it'll be okay. Don't get me wrong, I love the sass, but seeing Ava have a heart & be sympathetic was a nice change.
TJ is perfectly fine after the shootout, physically anyway, and I was wrong in my last blog in thinking that TJ is the one who gets shot. I honestly didn't see that one coming. Speaking of TJ, he goes OFF on Shawn & frankly, he has every right to.
Probably the best scene of the day was the last scene where Patrick shows up at Robin's door, saying he chooses her and wants to start over. Kimberly McCullough & Jason Thompson have undeniable chemistry & it shows. I can't wait for more Patrick/Robin scenes. Something tells me, though, it won't be "Village of the Happy People" once the holidays are over...I mean, is it ever in the soap world? We'll see.
I hope you guys enjoyed my latest edition of Murph's Musings! I didn't realize how much I missed writing this until I actually sat down & did it. You guys are the reason I'm doing this, along with my radio show...it's for the fans. I love each & every one of my readers of this blog & the listeners on the show. Okay, I'm getting sappy...just wanted you guys to know how I felt, though.
Take care & be safe
Hey everybody out there in cyberspace! Let's get this party started, shall we? Who's ready?!
Today's GH was pretty predictable, actually. Julian sees Bobbie, who, wisely, covers up her call from Lucas by saying it's Lucas Lorenzo Spencer (aka Luke), who helps the cover up by saying he butt dialed her...very clever writing. Anyway, apparently Julian bought it because he leaves to go to the warehouse, which we'll get to later, I promise.
Molly stops by Morgan's place & proceeds to tell him, with Julian there, that she's worried about TJ. She then proceeds to sign TJ's death certificate by telling them exactly where he is, who he's with & that he knows about Carlos. Blabber mouth much there, Molly? We'll come back to this later, trust me.
Speaking of Carlos, Sonny finds out that he escaped with TJ & is none too pleased about it, so he goes looking, only to find Carlos holding TJ hostage. Sonny threatens to shoot Carlos where he stands, that is, until the cavalry arrives, in the form of Julian & Morgan. Yes, I said Morgan. Seeing Morgan and Sonny pointing the guns at each other was all kinds of epic. In the ensuing chaos, somebody gets shot. I can't be sure who exactly it was, but I think things aren't looking too well for TJ. Oh, well, it was fun while it lasted. Can I just say though, Tequan Richmond has taken this role & made it his own. If you'll remember, Tequan was a recast, either the 2nd or 3rd actor to have the role. I don't know what happened with the other actors, but, like I said, Tequan has put his own spin on the character and made it his own.
Patrick tells Robin that Emma should be home for Christmas, but he'll stay in the on call room at the hospital while he figures out what he's going to do about his "situation". Can I just throw my two cents in here for a second? I'm really hoping he chooses Sabrina, but we all (well most of us) are pretty sure of what he'll do. I think when he showed up at Sabrina's door at the end of the show, he was going to tell her that he chose Robin. My question is, though, who showed up at Robin's door? Any guesses would certainly help. I guess we'll find out tomorrow.
Silas tells Ava he got a call from the NYPD & I think this is a recycled Steve Weber-Memphis storyline. My guess is Silas killed a patient in NYC & somehow got Ava to help with the cover up & now the cops are on to both of them. Like I said, though, just a guess. I could be totally wrong.
Well, that'll just about put an end to today's edition of Murph's Musings! Hope you enjoyed & as always, comments, questions, etc. are greatly appreciated & welcomed
Hey everybody out there in cyberspace! How the heck are y'all? Let's not beat around the bush with witty comments (especially the way I'm feeling today), let's just get right to it, shall we?
Today's GH was, all in all, fairly good. We had our moments, but like I said, it was pretty awesome today. Glad to see, as I said in the last blog, more of the mob scene being infused back in & I love, love, LOVE every location shoot! That's not just in daytime, but every location shoot ever...I just love shows that actually go on location. Okay, I'm rambling again.
Julian stopped by Alexis' place today & wanted to know what she knew about Carlos' whereabouts & somehow or other, the subject of Lucas came up. I can't wait until Lucas arrives back in town & comes face to face with his dad. Among the other topics discussed, which Molly overheard, was the fact that Julian knows Shawn will kill Carlos on Sonny's orders, which prompted Molly & TJ to head to the warehouse...this may not end well, but that's pure speculation on my part. The reason I say that is, TJ found Carlos & set him free, but Carlos got into a fight with one of Sonny's armed guards (who knew he had more than Max & Milo)? Anyway, I've got my theories on what will probably happen, but we'll save them for now because I want to see how this plays out. Speaking of Sonny's plan to take down the Jeromes, he gives Duke an out in case he doesn't want to go through with it for Anna's sake, but he says he's perfectly comfortable right where he is. Well, okay, then. Moving right along...
Lulu tells Bobbie & Luke about the embryos & then Lulu goes to Spoon Island to talk to Britt, who isn't there, which we'll get to in a second. The minute she walks in, she gravitates right for the baby, not knowing it's actually hers. We'll leave that for now.
Back at the PCPD, Obrecht proceeds to spill everything about how she implanted Britt with Dante & Lulu's embryos. I cannot WAIT to have Kathleen Gati back on my radio show in January or February to chat about this since it's mostly came out. Quick side note, as I've mentioned before, Kathleen is the SWEETEST person ever in real life! Love that woman to death.
At the hospital, after Lulu's encounter with her real baby, her & Dante get called in to talk to Brad about the missing embryos. Brad proceeds to tell them that Ellie (miss that lady so much), before she left, signed documents to have leftover lab things destroyed & their embryos were one of them. We all pretty much know that's a cover-up, since Ben is biologically Dante & Lulu's, so I can't wait for this explanation to come out.
Okay, I think that does it for today's Murph's Musings! Per usual, comments, questions, etc. are greatly appreciated & welcomed! Until next time!
Take care & be safe
